The naming of the teams was made an extra bit special, as both of these names were suggested by two of our very own junior softballers, and extremely talented wahine from South Pacific Ravens.

We are so extremely proud to have such meaningful, beautiful names for our Otago senior teams going forward.

We congratulate both of these young ladies, & our 2021/22 squads being the first teams playing under these new names, and being a part of Otago Softball History.

To commemorate this historic occasion, we designed t-shirts which were presented to the 2021/22 Otago Whatukura and Mareikura teams.

These designs not only have our new team names, but also a Maori Kowhaiwhai designed by Georgia Latu who is extremely talented and passionate about tamoko & maori arts.

Georgia has captured the essence of the meanings of our names, and the Otago teams, in these beautiful designs.

In 2023 Otago Softball secured funding from Grassroot Trust Central to update our senior uniforms and we are very proud to continue this design and kaupapa for the future, fierce and determined men and woman of Otago.
